Since 2011, we have made it our mission
to increase the Accessibility of music
Across the CITY OF DALLAS.

Our Mission

The mission of Bridge the Gap Chamber Players is to make music of all kinds more accessible to the community through performances of a variety of genres in non-traditional locations and education programs in the Dallas area.

Bridge the Gap Chamber Players (BtG) is a semi-classical chamber music organization based in Dallas, Texas comprised of young professional artists and arts administrators with a passion for sharing their love of music through free public classical concerts. Rooted in classical music, we are proponents of all music and pride ourselves on variety in our programming.

Bridge the Gap recognizes that new music is being created every day by living composers, and believes that this music deserves the same recognition and attention as established repertoire. Bridge the Gap frequently works with composers and regularly commissions new works.

Beyond performing, Bridge the Gap understands the importance of music education and leads after school music programs at Dallas ISD elementary schools, teaching music fundamentals and bringing musicians in for children to enjoy and learn from.

bridge the gap education & OUTREACH

BtG teachers, staff, and board members organized and taught at after school programs, masterclasses, and lesson studios at schools in Dallas, Richardson, and Flower Mound ISD, as part of the BtG mission to get chamber music of all kinds accessible to the public

As a supplement their in-school music education, we bring in student musicians and music educators to learn and make music together.

ARTIST Residency program

In March 2019, BtG founder and former Artistic Director, now board member Zack Reaves became the first Bridge the Gap Artist in Residence. A professional cellist and arranger out of Colorado, Zack brought his talent and passion for chamber music back to Dallas for three days of concerts, outreach, and presentations at SMU, Richardson High School, and Mata Montessori School.

The three day residency concluded with a concert at Halcyon Coffee + Bar, featuring Zack, on the cello, leading SMU student ensembles in arrangements and compositions of his own and others. SMU Division of Chamber Music ensembles also performed their semester’s worth of studied repertoire.
